Wedding and Event Wear Size Help

Sizing & Fit
I want you to feel confident ordering your L.O.M piece, whether you’re nearby or ordering from the other side of the world.
Most garments can be made remotely using your measurements, but there are also options for studio fittings if you would like the full experience, or if you are ordering a complicated piece.
Standard Sizes
Most pieces are available in UK sizes 6–20.
If you order a garment in a standard size with no adjustments, the price listed on the website is the final price.
Our sizing is based on UK averages, but many L.O.M designs are intended to be quite fitted, so if you find yourself between sizes we usually recommend ordering the size up and having minor tailoring done locally if needed.
Small Measurement Adjustments
If you would like small changes to improve the fit - for example adjusting sleeve length, torso length, or bust measurements - this can usually be done before your garment is cut.
These adjustments typically cost £45–£120 depending on the garment.
Made-to-Measure
If you would prefer your garment to be cut specifically to your measurements, we also offer a made-to-measure service.
This involves adjusting the pattern to your measurements before production.
Typical made-to-measure fees:
• Tops & corsets: £120–£180
• Skirts: £120–£180
• Dresses: £180–£250
• Jumpsuits: £200–£300
Studio Fittings
If you would like to visit in person, fittings can be arranged at the L.O.M studio in Hastings.
The first fitting is complimentary, then fitting sessions after that are £55 each, which includes a 1 hour fitting appointment. Alterations are charged separately.
Most clients require one or two fittings.
International Orders
L.O.M regularly ships garments worldwide.
If you are unable to visit the studio, garments can be made using measurements taken by a professional tailor local to you.
Where possible I will include a little allowance where appropriate so that any final tweaks can be made once your piece arrives.
Made-to-Order Pieces
All L.O.M wedding and gold pieces are made to order in the studio.
Because each garment is individually produced once an order has been placed, these items are non-returnable.
I strongly recommend checking your measurements carefully before ordering, and I am always happy to help advise on sizing if you are unsure.

Measuring tips:
- It is possible to take your own measurements, however, it is always easier to do it with a friend!
- Make sure you are wearing undergarments similar to those you want to wear on the big day.
- Some dresses require more complicated measurements, for this you might want to get your measurements done at your local tailor.
- Do not pull the tape measure too tight
- Use a fabric tape measure - do NOT use a metal tape measure!
Waist: Your waist measurement is taken at the narrowest part of your waist, this is usually about an inch or so above your bellybutton
Bust: This is taken around the fullest part of the bust, making sure the tape measure does not drop or sag at the back. It is best to take this measurement whilst wearing any support you might want to wear on the day.
Hips: This measurement is to be taken around the fullest part of your hips, this is not around the hip bone, but around the low hips and bum.
